Southside SAVE

As Southside Sexual Assault and Violence Educators (Southside SAVE), we seek to provide Chicago's Southside community with the necessary vocabulary to promote an understanding and dialogue on rape. On the University of Chicago campus, we strive to increase awareness and activism within the student body, in conjunction with existing university offices. The greater part of our work, however, focuses on educating the larger Southside community about the culture promoting sexual violence. As caring Southside community members, our first task is to advocate sexual violence prevention in our own religious institutions, schools, and neighborhood. All South Side Sexual Assault and Violence Educators are 56-hour plus trained by Rape Victim Advocates and state-certified as crisis counselors.
