Activities and Volunteer Opportunities

RSVP

The mission of Resources for Sexual Violence Prevention at the University of Chicago is to promote healthy gender relations through dialogue and education. Each year, RSVP coordinates a week of events in the middle of Fall quarter (Sexual Assault Awareness Week), the SpeakOut against sexual and domestic violence at the end of January, a month of events in April (Sexual Violence Awareness Month) and training of Orientation Leaders in mid-September for O-week programming. Events include national speakers, Self-Defense classes, special topics workshops and panel discussions, as well as other opportunities for activism, education, awareness, and expression on issues surrounding sexual assault and its reduction. RSVP also recruits and trains Peer Educators -- University students with the skills necessary to become activists and implement the University's commitment to the progressive education of women and men in a world free from sexual violence.
